Metamorphosis...

Did you already see the new release Visible Image has going?  You really should check it out because the new sets are just gorgeous.  You might have seen them in my very first unboxing video and I'm having all my viewers commenting to let me know which set they want me to use in my next video so if you have a personal favorite... go ahead and leave me a comment underneath my video or even here on my blog ^.^

Hebben jullie de nieuwe release van Visible Image al gezien? Neem zeker eens een kijkje want de nieuwe sets zijn echt super.  Je hebt ze misschien al gezien in mijn allereerste unboxing video, en daarin laat ik jullie zelf de kans om mij te laten weten welke stempelset jullie graag zien in mijn eerst volgende video dus als jullie een persoonlijke favoriet hebben... laat me zeker iets weten door een berichtje onder de video te zetten of hier op het blog ^.^

And of course one of the sets was on my table for this new video.  No surprise that is were the butterflies?  Well I can tell you that the 'Creative chaos' set already has seen some ink too ^.^

En natuurlijk is een van de nieuwe sets al op mijn tafel beland voor deze nieuwe video. Zal waarschijnlijk geen verrassing zijn dat het de vlinderset was. Maar ik kan al verklappen dat de 'Creative Chaos' ook al inkt heeft gezien ^.^
Het woord metamorfose... dat eindigt waarschijnlijk wel vaker op een project en het is gewoon perfect voor de vlinders toch? Veel plezier met de video!

Be fearless...

You've got to love the Definition sets by Visible Image. They are such versatile sets: use them in original state and ou have a great stamp for birthday cards or Mother/Father day cards or as background stamps or...
But I especially love them because they hold so many words you can also use separately. Or ever thought on combining them and make your own sentiments? I did in today's project and I'm more than happy in sharing how easy it is :-)

Je kan niet anders dan de Definiton sets van Visible Image super vinden.  Het zijn zo'n veelzijdige sets: je kan ze als geheel gebruiken voor een verjaardagskaart of een Vader/Moederdagkaart of als achtergrondstempel of...
Maar waarom ik ze pas echt super vind is dat ze een verzameling zijn van zoveel woorden die je perfect apart kan gebruiken. Of je kan ze zelfs gaan combineren en je eigen zinnen gaan maken voor je project.  Ik ging die kant uit in het project van vandaag en laat je met veel plezier zien hoe makkelijk het is ^.^

I can't explain it but something inside of me needed to put that tree on the hand. And then it stopped in my mind. It's the strangest feeling of needing to see those two together but it just feels right, relaxed...
And yet it didn't feel finished so I held it in my head and I've let it grow... until today.
I found words to match and that tiny leave to express some extra things in my head.  And as happy as I am with the finished page, I feel the need to make another page with only that hand and the tree...
So I will, but first I want to share with you how I created this page and I can do so by sharing the video tutorial I made. Enjoy!

Ik kan het niet uitleggen maar iets van binnen had het nodig om de boom bovenop de arm te plaatsen. En toen werd het stil in mijn hoofd. Het was een gek gevoel maar ik moest die twee gewoon samen zien en het voelde gewoon goed en relaxed...
En toch voelde het niet volledig dus ik hield het in gedachten en liet het groeien... tot vandaag.
Ik vond de juiste woorden en het kleine blaadje die het verhaal af maakten in mijn hoofd. En hoe blij ik ook ben met de pagina van vandaag, toch wil ik nog een nieuwe pagina maken met enkel de boom en de arm samen...
Dus dat ga ik ook doen, maar eerst laat ik zien hoe ik deze pagina maake en dat kan heel makkelijk door de video tutorial te laten zien die ik maakte.  Veel plezier.

Sometimes it's hard to find the perfect gift for someone. Or you know what you want to give but are doubting if it's the right color or size... So sometimes we make the best choice in giving a gift card. Or make a little card which says you will be kidnapping them to shop with you. Weird? I can tell you she loved it ^.^
But when giving a gift card or kidnappingcard I do want to give it a nice wrapping so I started with a little envelope and ended up with a little matchbox to hold my envelope which holds my card.
Now all it needs is some wrapping ^.^  Have fun with the video. This time no watercolors for a change ^.^


Het is niet altijd even makkelijk om het perfecte cadeau te vinden voor iemand. Of soms weet je wel wat je wil geven maar twijfel je aan de kleur of de maat of...  En dan gok je of kies je voor de veiligheid maar een kadobon. Of een kaartje waarop je staat dat hij/ze gekidnapped wordt om met je mee te gaan shoppen. Raar? Neen hoor ik kan je vertellen dat ze het super vond ^.^
Maar als ik dan zo een kadobon of kidnapkaart geeft wil ik het natuurlijk wel graag in een mooie verpakking. Ik begon met een kleine envelop en eindigde met een handgemaakt doosje om het in te stoppen. Het enige wat ik nu nog moet doen is in pakken ^.^

It's cold outside video hop...

What do you get when 6 ladies and myself get together... a new mixed media video hop ^.^
And after some brainstorming we knew what direction we wanted to go: let ourselves get inspired by a moodboard. So I went ahead, looked for some nice pictures on www.pexel.com and came up with this moodboard to get everyone challenged...

Wat krijg je als 6 dames en ikzelf samen komen via internet... een nieuwe mixed media video hop ^.^
Na wat brainstormen wisten we welke richting we uit wilden gaan: we gingen ons laten inspireren door een moodboard. Dus ging ik aan de slag, zocht een paar leuke afbeeldingen op www.pexel.com  en daaruit ontstond deze moodboard om iedereen uit te dagen...

And since we know it's always more fun to hop when there is a prize to win, we contacted some people and these fabulous people became our fabulous sponsors ^.^

En aangezien we weten dat het altijd leuker is om te hoppen als er een prijs te winnen is, hebben we even rondgevraagd met deze fantastische sponsors tot gevolg ^.^

Define...

Define... you...  Are you you or are you who anyone wants you to be?
That's a question I keep in mind a lot. Why? Because I want to stay true to myself and not feel captured in a box only because some people expect me to be there.
Of course sometimes you adapt to situations and then I'm the more serious Veerle... but the moment I can I'm just my old self among those I love ^.^
But where I keep this question in my head most of the times is in my craft mode. I see so many things in this crafting business and I often ask myself why people just go and jump on the bandwagon of new releases only because they are new and because they feel the need to do it because they want to belong to that group that has all the new stuff.  What is wrong with being authentic and choose your own materials just because you love them and think they can help you create what you want to create. The stuff what helps you to lay down your own story?
And yes, I'm guilty as I have been there too. That is until I discovered watercolors and found Visible Image. It took me some years to find my own style ^.^ And yet, when I ask people what they would like to see me do... they go the complete other direction. And then there is that question again...
So... define...  Have fun with the video ^.^

Omschrijf... jezelf. Ben jij jezelf of ben je eender wie iemand wil dat je bent?
Die vraag springt regelmatig in mijn hoofd. Waarom?  Omdat ik trouw aan mezelf wil blijven en niet in een kastje gezet wil worden omdat mensen me zo willen zien.
Natuurlijk pas je jezelf soms aan in sommige situaties en dan ben ik bijvoorbeeld de meer serieuze Veerle... maar zodra ik kan ben ik terug gewoon mijn oude ik onder bekenden ^.^
Waar die vraag eigenlijk het vaakste naar boven komt is op creatief vlak. Ik zie zo veel in de hobbywereld passeren en ik vraag me vaak af waarom mensen steeds mee springen op die denderende trein en bijvoorbeeld enkel de nieuwste spullen kopen omdat ze bij die groep willen horen die het allerlaatste hebben. Wat is er mis met authentiek zijn en je eigen materiaal kiezen enkel en alleen omdat je ze mooi vindt en vindt dat ze je kunnen helpen om je eigen ding te doen, je eigen verhaal neer te zetten?
En ja hoor, ik reed vroeger ook mee met die trein. Tot het moment dat ik aquarelverf ontdekte en Visible Image. Het heeft een paar jaar geduurd om mijn eigen ding te ontdekken ^.^ En elke keer weer als ik iemand vraag wat ze graag van me zouden willen zien gaan ze een totaal andere kant uit. En dan komt die vraag weer...

Sometimes you can't stop that feeling that is growing inside, and you just have to give in.  I really wanted to go and have some fun with crackle paste and... that one fine but oh so beautiful line from the 'Sparkle in the rain set'. So I just did it, I've cut it off and had a play with it...
And I'm taking you all along in my video, have fun!

Soms kan je het gewoon niet tegen houden en moet je er aan toegeven.  Ik wou echt heel graag opnieuw eens met crackle pasta aan de slag en met dat fijne maar oh zo mooie lijntje uit de 'Sparkle in the rain' set. Dus ik heb het gewoon gedaan: ik heb het lijntje eraf geknipt zodat ik er heel makkelijk mee kon werken. En ik had de camera terug aan, veel plezier!

Holiday card series #2

Did you discover the Holiday card series I started on my youtube channel?  It started last week and I challenged myself to go and make one quick and CAS Christmas card every week so maybe this year I'll have all my cards ready in time to be send ^.^
This week... bring out the bister or brusho or any other pigment you have to color your background...

Heb je de nieuwe afspeellijst op mijn youtube kanaal al ontdekt? Een reeks tutorials waarbij ik mezelf heb uitgedaagd om elke week een snelle en eenvoudige kerstkaart te maken om zo te proberen om eindelijk eens al mijn kerstkaartjes op tijd klaar te hebben ^.^
Deze week haal je gewoon je bister of brusho of eender welk pigment poeder boven om kleur aan te brengen...
