Art journal: 100% me

A new page in my art journal.  Not a lot of techniques, just trying to express myself and show who I am on the inside.
The blue part for my positive side, always in for a laugh and get crazy.  On the other side the walls, building up as I get older because I ' ve noticed it's necessary to go and protect myself more than before. I made them using a stencil and gesso so they are really there in 3D, they are real in my life so...
The butterfly...trying to go and feel free and enjoy life as much as I can...
Already have some ideas for next pages but they all seem to be a reflection of how I feel things at this moment.  Seems like it will be an emotional journey this art journal...


Een nieuwe pagina in mijn art journal.  Niet heel veel technieken maar het werd een pagina waarin ik geprobeerd heb om zo goed als mogelijk te laten zien wie ik ben binnenin mezelf.
Het blauwe gedeelte voor mijn positieve kant, altijd in om te lachen, gek te doen en gewoon te genieten. Daar tegenover staan muren.  Ik merk dat ik, hoe ouder ik wordt, ik meer muren optrek rondom mezelf om me te beschermen. Ik maakte ze me teen stencil en gesso zodat ze echt structuur hebben, ze zijn immers heel echt in mijn leven...
Als laatste is er de vlinder die voor mij symbool staat voor vrijheid, genieten en ontdekken...
De pagina's die ik al in mijn hoofd heb  voor mijn art journal draaien tot nu toe eigenlijk vooral over hoe ik dingen aanvoel op dit moment.  Het wordt dus vooral een emotionele reis dit art journal ...

Ik wou gewoon even hoi zeggen aan mijn nieuwe volgers hier op het blog en dank je wel. Ik hoop dat je het hier wat naar je zin hebt.
Mocht je ooit vragen hebben dan geef je maar een gil en als er iets is wat je mist dan hoor ik het graag ;-) ( Zolang er geen naaimachine aan te pas komt of breinaalden ;-) )

En ik moet nu wel toegeven, ik ben een nieuwsgierig aagje.  Wat vinden jullie leuk om te zien, welke materialen willen jullie gebruikt zien, liever kaarten, ATC of hebben jullie ook een artjournal... Willen jullie graag stap voor stap zien? Voel jullie vrij om mijn nieuwsgierigheid te beantwoorden in een berichtje :-)  

Om dit ATC'tje te maken haalde ik mijn ecolines en copics uit de kast...

Just a little ATC to show.  Background was created with pastels combined with versamark and a stamp. The wall you can see in the background was created with a TCW stencil

Een ATCtje voor vandaag.  De achtergrond werd gemaakt met pastels gecombineerd met een stempel en versamark.  De muur die je kan opmerken in de achtergrond is gemaakt met een stencil van TCW

Art journal: Embrace mistakes...

My first art journal page...finished :-) Didn' t start off as planned ( HERE ) and got a completely new text but it 's as if it had to happen.  A message to cling onto trough my journey in my journal...
Inspiration...was found by Donna Downey.

Mijn allereerste pagina in mijn art journal is helemaal klaar :-) Het startte niet echt zoals ik had verwacht ( blogpost ) en er kwam een totaal andere tekst op maar het leek wel voorbestemd.  Een boodschap die ik mee neem op elke pagina in mijn art journal...
De inspiratie voor deze pagina ...begon bij Donna Downey.

* art journal: moleskine sketchbook
* gesso
* gel medium
* free print butterfly : click here
  ( using photshop to isolate the blue butterfly and printed onto tissue paper)
* paint
* distressinks ( antique linnen - scattered straw -shabby shutters - peeled paint)
* charcoal pencil
* uniball signo white pen
* black pastel
* stamps script Artemio - computer (brush script MT)

Art journal: let's get started...

Finally I got my hands on a moleskine journal.  Have all those ideas spinning in my head so yesterday I wanted to get right to it.
I had an idea for my first spread, knew what it would look like, knew the text I was going to write onto it...
But then it happened.  I had tried several times to transfer some little pictures and it went most of the times as I wished.  This time I would transfer a whole page of butterflies on the left page of my first journalpage...
But as I lifted my page it just went and took the most of the journal page with it!! So damn, ok , this wasn't really what I wanted  :-)
But he, I can't change it so I just have to make the best of it... So I decided to stick the page with the butterflies at the right and the more a looked at it, the more I started to like it since I like worn and torn paperprints.
I guess the first page of my art journal will get an other finish and text...

Eindelijk had ik een Moleskine journal te pakken.  Ik had al die ideeën in mijn hoofd en kon niet wachten om er aan te beginnen.  Voor de eerste pagina wist ik precies wat ik zou gaan doen, hoe het er ongeveer uit zou gaan zien, welke tekst er op zou komen...
Maar dan gebeurde het. Ik had al verschillende keren geprobeerd om een kleine prent over te zetten met de transfertechniek en meestal lukte dat goed genoeg.  Dus deze keer zou ik een ganse pagina met vlinders transferren op de linkerpagina...  Alles ging goed tot ik mijn pagina probeerde weg te halen.  Bleek dat het grootste deel van mijn artjournalpapier mee los kwam !! Ok, doeme, dat was dus niet de bedoeling :-)
Maar kijk, ik kon het niet veranderend dus verder trekken was de boodschap.
Hmm even gepiekerd want er bleef een dun ruw papiertje over...maar hoe meer ik er naar keek hoe mooier ik het begon te vinden.  Ik hou wel van ruw en textuur.  De pagina met de vlinders heb ik aan de rechterkant gekleefd, nieuwe ideeën hebben zich gevormd.
De eerste pagina in mijn art journal krijgt dus blijkbaar een totaal andere invulling en tekst...

ATC: Love with all your...

At the yahoo group "Stempel ATC" this months challenge is using the "piramide technique". So you have to something you can get in different sizes and then stack them onto each other. Had my mind turning and decided to give it my own twist.  Using my own carved stamps made some masks, using dylusions and stamps making my background and this is what I came up with...

Op de Yahoo groep " stempel ATC" is deze maand de "piramide techniek" naar voren geschoven als uitdaging.  Bedoeling is dus dat je een vorm in verschillende maten hebt en die in "3D"  op elkaar gaat zetten.  
Ik heb er mijn eigen draai aan gegeven...
Met mijn zelf gekerfde stempels wat maskers gemaakt, dylusions en stempels erbij genomen om de achtergrond te maken en dit is het eindresultaat...

ATC : Love

A new ATC to show you.  Took out my paints this time and of course inks and stamps couldn't stay away :-)
The hearts are stamps I carved myself.  The red heart are some layers of red WOW embossingpowder stamped while still hot.

Een nieuw ATCtje om te laten zien.  Deze keer heb ik mijn verven boven gehaald maar inkt en stempels konden natuurlijk niet ontbreken. 
De harten stempels heb ik zelf gemaakt.  Het rode hart zijn verschillende lagen van rood WOW embossingpoeder waarbij in de laatste laag een stempel is gedrukt terwijl het poeder nog warm was.

Just played with some grey pencils (B-6B and H-5H) to create this clean and simple card.

Enkel grijze potloden  (B-6B en H-5H) om dit CAS kaartje te kleuren.

Mijn laatste variant op de roettechniek (soottechnique): het papier is gekleurd voor ik het roet aanbracht...

Little owl

Since I had to chose a technique to use at the group "stempel-ATC"  I chose the soot-technique. Ik wanted to try that technique for so long so this was te perfect moment to actually go and do it myself.  Last ATC HERE used the reversed soot technique for the background, this time the soot-technique was used to make the owl.

No card...

No valentine's card for my hubbie today.  I saw this idea somewhere long ago on the internet and loved it.  So when my hubbie went to work today he found my version of the heart dangling on the steering-wheel of the car...

Materials: wooden hearts from a local shop (Blokker), metal foil

ATC : Love

Eindelijk nog even iets laten zien.  Ik zit niet stil...maar veel van de zaken die ik probeer kan ik nog even niet laten zien :-p
Maar dit ATCtje dus wel.  De achtergrond is gemaakt op aquarelpapier en de Zig Art and Graphic pennen.
De tekststempel kocht ik lang geleden op de stempelbeurs in Zeist en de swirls en het hart en vleugels zijn ook al oudere stempels.  Het hart en de vleugels zijn stempels van Technique Tuesday en werden met zwart embossingpoeder aangezet. De swirls zijn met peacockinkt van colorbox gestempeld, de tekst met de paarse zigpen.
