One kind word...

What if...? Sometimes you try out something and just discover new things and today's project is all about that. I had the 1983 stencil on my work desk and while trying out something I saw another pattern appear that I loved... so I just went ahead and made a little tag with it.
And I found the perfect words for this tag in the new released set 'One kind word'...

Wat als...? Soms ga je aan het experimenteren en ontdek je nieuwe dingen die je niet had verwacht. Ik had het nieuwe 1983 stencil op mijn werkblad en toen ik iets aan het uitproberen was zag ik een vorm die zelf heel graag zie... dus ging ik ermee aan de slag op een tag.
En de perfecte woorden  voor mijn tag vond ik in de nieuwe set 'One kind word'

De kleur is aangebracht met een paar Inktense potloden...

Save the crafty youtuber #2

It's back... the 'Save the crafty youtuber' hop.  A little bit different to the first one but still just as much fun and as inspirational as before ^.^
But maybe you have missed out on the first one and you have no idea what I'm talking about ^.^ To make a long story short: youtube changed some rules and the smaller channels are the ones affected the most. So Justine Hovey decided to team up with us and organize a youtube hop.  It became a very big one with... a lot of prizes to be won.
It still is a big video hop but we've split it up in different categories:
Monday: CAS / One layer cards
Tuesday: Quick videos & ideas
Wednesday: Mixed media
Thursday: Techniques
Friday: Advanced techniques / Longer videos

But we haven't changed anything on the chance for you to win a prize.  There is a prize to be won at each channel so the more you comment the bigger your chances to win ^.^

We gaan er terug voor: er is een nieuwe 'Save the crafty youtuber' video hop. Een klein beetje anders dan de eerste keer maar nog steeds even leuk en met evenveel inspiratie als toen ^.^
Maar misschien hebben jullie de eerste gemist en hebben jullie geen idee waar ik het eigenlijk over heb. Om een lang verhaal kort te maken: youtube heeft een paar veranderingen doorgevoerd en het zijn de kleine youtube kanalen die daar het hardst in getroffen worden. En daarom heeft Justine Hovey besloten om iedereen in een videohop samen te brengen en elkaar zo te steunen. Het werd een hele grote hop met een hele hoop prijzen die konden gewonnen worden.
Het is nog steeds een grote hop alleen hebben we de video's nu opgesplitst:
Maandag: CAS kaartjes/ kaarten met één laag
Dinsdag: Snelle video's en ideetjes
Woensdag: Mixed media
Donderdag: Technieken
Vrijdag: Gevorderde technieken Langere video's

Maar we hebben niets verandert aan de hoeveelheid prijzen. Er is opnieuw een kans om een prijs te winnen bij elke video dus hoe meer reacties je achterlaat, hoe meer kans je hebt om te winnen ^.^

Feit: ik maak niet graag kerstkaarten en stel het dus altijd uit tot het allerlaatste moment.
Oplossing: elke week een snelle makkelijke kaart ( of een veelvoud ervan) maken tot aan Kerst.
Dus... begin het aftellen maar: nog 10 weken tot aan Kerst.

It's time...

When is it time to start a new chapter in your life? How long do you allow yourself or force yourself  to keep trying before starting a new one?  Not an easy question and it's one that will differ for each of us. The only right answer is: as long as necessary to be able to look back later and not feeling guilty for not having fought hard enough.
Closing...does that mean you have to forget about that chapter? Sometimes that is indeed what you need to do, to be able to move on and have a happy life. But don't forget that chapter is part of the story that brought you to the place you are right now and made you as strong as you are now. So maybe, sometimes it's just better to put it behind glass as a reminder of how strong you have become.

Wanneer is het tijd om een nieuw hoofdstuk te beginnen in je leven? Hoe lang laat je jezelf toe of verplicht je jezelf om te blijven proberen voor je een nieuw hoofdstuk begint? Geen makkelijke vraag en het is er eentje die voor iedereen anders zal zijn. Het enige antwoord is: zo lang als nodig zodat je later kan terugkijken en je jezelf niet schuldig hoeft te voelen dat je niet hard genoeg geprobeerd hebt.
Afsluiten...wil dit zeggen dat je het oude hoofdstuk gewoon moet gaan vergeten? Soms is dat inderdaad wat je moet doen zodat je verder kan gaan met je leven. Maar vergeet niet dat ook dat hoofdstuk je gebracht heeft op de plaats waar je nu bent. Dus misschien is het wel beter om het gewoon achter glas te zetten als een herinnering aan hoe je zo sterk bent geworden.

You're not alone...

Sometimes you see a set and you just fall in love. Well this 'You're not alone' set is one of them.  Sometimes it's so easy to explain and sometimes it's not, it's a feeling that a set gives you and that's exactly what's going on with this set.

Soms zie je een set en val je gewoon als een blok voor de set. Deze 'You're not alone' set is er eentje van.  Het is soms hard om uit te leggen, vaak is het gewoon een gevoel dat een set je geeft en dat is precies wat het is met deze set.

I love the hands and love the words, they will make perfect cards to give some support to anyone in need of it. But they have so many more possibilities. For today's project I chose to make a supportive tag... 
And yes, that's a little bit of gold on my butterfly ^.^

Ik vind de handen prachtig en de woorden... ze zijn perfect om kaarten te maken om iemand een hart onder de riem te steken die het nodig heeft. Maar er zijn zoveel meer mogelijkheden. Voor het project van vandaag koos ik om een tag te maken om iemand een hart onder de riem te steken.
En je ziet het goed, er zit wat goud op mijn vlinder ^.^

And yes,  I had some fun burning holes in my tag ^.^ 

En ik heb inderdaad gaten in mijn tag gebrand ^.^

Here's the tag in it's full glory.  But you could easily make it in a card's version, and choose to make it in a color. Or just give the butterfly a color instead of the golden accent I chose for this tag...

En hier is de volledige tag. Maar je zou perfect kunnen kiezen om dit in een kaartvorm te maken, of kiezen om het in kleur te maken. Of gewoon de vlinder een kleur geven in de plaats van het gouden accent dat ik koos op deze tag...

You are strong...

A touch... a feeling... a heartbeat...  seeing the new set from Visible Image with those beautiful hands... they sure touched something inside of me.  They speak to me and I want to go and create some things of which I can't even say why I'm putting certain elements together.
For today's project I do know what started my project. Looking at one of the hands I immediately thought of a puppet player.  So I just knew I wanted to have something hanging on the hand.  But it wasn't until I started my project that I found the perfect elements.
Got you curious? I've got it all filmed, have fun ^.^

A touch (een aanraking)... a feeling (een gevoel)... a heartbeat (een hartslag)... Toen ik deze nieuwe set van Visible Image zag met die prachtige handen... ze raakten zeker iets vanbinnen. Ze blijven in mijn hoofd zitten en ik heb zoveel ideeën in mijn hoofd waarvan ik niet eens kan verklaren waarom ik sommige elementen samen breng. 
Voor het project van vandaag wist ik wel waar het begon.  Toen ik naar een van de handen keek dacht ik meteen aan een poppenspeler. Dus ik wist dat ik iets aan het hand wou gaan hangen. Maar het was pas toen ik echt aan mijn project begon dat ik de perfecte elementen vond.
Benieuwd?  Ik heb het allemaal op video voor jullie ^.^ Veel plezier!

So I had this idea in my head and... ended up with a completely different project.  Well actually two of them ^.^
I started out with my background and still had this idea but then... I saw this little fine line...  And I knew I wanted to use it. So I changed up my complete project.  I took out my red watercolors and the choice for my word was made in an instance.

Ik had een idee in mijn hoofd en toch...eindigde ik met een compleet ander project. Wel eigenlijk twee ^.^
Ik begon met het maken van mijn achtergrond en had nog steeds dat idee in mijn hoofd to... ik dat fijne lijntje zag... en ik wist dat ik het wou gaan gebruiken. Dus ging mijn project een ganse andere richting uit. Ik nam er mijn rode aquarelverf bij en de keuze voor mijn woord was meteen gemaakt.

It had all came together in my head and in my soul.  Is it a hint if I tell you the word beat was taken from the original word 'heartbeat' in the set?

Het kwam helemaal samen in mijn hoofd en hart. Geef ik een hint als het woord beat ( sla) van het originele woord in de set heartbeat (hartslag) komt?

Knowing this tag will be send to the headquarters of Visible Image I wanted a duplicate, I wanted one for myself here at home so I made a second background except... It was darker and I loved it. But for some reason it made more sense to place my 3 squares on a different place and just keep it abstract.

Ik wist dat deze tag naar Visible Image ging opgestuurd worden dus ik wou er graag nog eentje maken, gewoon voor mezelf om hier bij mij te houden in mijn eigen journal.  Dus maakte ik een nieuwe achtergrond alleen... deze werd iets donkerder, en ik vond hem super.  En voor een of andere reden was het naar mijn gevoel logischer om de drie vierkanten op een andere plaats te zetten en het gewoon abstract te houden.

Dezelfde fijne lijn met dezelfde betekenis alleen plaatste ik het woord er nu niet bij.

Altenew watercolor panset review...

When you hear there is a complete new set of watercolors coming.... you can't get but excited to try them out no? Well, maybe not when you're not a watercolor fan but I am so I decided to go and give them a try so... I've got not one but two video's for you on my channel today. First one is the one where I take you along and discover everything from this set together with you  when opening the box for the very first time. And of course I had to go and make a project with it so there's the second video ^.^

Als je hoort dat er een volledige nieuwe aquarelverf set op de markt komt... dan kan je toch niets anders dan enthousiast worden? Nou misschien niet helemaal als je geen aquarelfan bent maar dat ben ik wel dus ik ging er helemaal voor. Ik heb vandaag dus niet één maar twee video's op mijn youtube kanaal gezet.  De eerste neemt je samen met mij mee bij het ontdekken van de set vanaf het moment dat hij voor de allereerste keer wordt geopend.  En natuurlijk moest ik ook een projectje maken dus daar is de tweede video rond gemaakt ^.^

And it's not just a project.  I got challenged by my daughter... and what a challenge it was. Have fun with the video!

En het is niet zomaar een project. Ik werd uitgedaagd door mijn dochter... en ik ben helemaal eerlijk als ik zeg dat het een uitdaging was. Veel plezier met video nummer twee!

En dan word ik natuurlijk benieuwd. Zouden jullie het tof vinden om mijn projecten mee te bepalen? Zin om me uit te dagen met een bepaalde kleur of stempelset of een product? Always there...

I've always loved old walls. I love all the old cracks, the crevices, the little missing pieces, the life it breaths... So for today's project I wanted to go and have a play with that little crack stamp from the 'Create it' set (well the biggest of the two) and I stamped it several times, using some masking tape to create some cracking on my tag. When you choose your masking right, you're able to create a little place to put a fine detail and for my project...yes you guessed it right it was a tiny heart...

Ik heb altijd van oude muren gehouden. Ik hou van die spleten en kieren, de oneffenheden, de kleine stukken die missen, het leven dat het vasthoudt... Voor mijn project van vandaag wou ik aan de slag met de kleine crackle stempel van de 'Create it' set ( nou de grootste van de twee) en ik heb hem meerdere keren gestempeld waarbij ik soms masking tape gebruikte om delen te masken. En als je de tape op de juiste plaatsen kleeft dan kan je een plaatsje maken waarin je een klein detail kan verwerken. En ja... je raadt het helemaal juist, bij mij is dat een klein hartje...

Of course I needed some words for my tag and I found them in the Son Definition set...

En natuurlijk wilde ik er ook een tekstje op en die vond ik in de 'Son Definition' set...

Close your eyes...

Remember this video? And remember I made two backgrounds with some left over Twinkling H2O paints?

Herinner je je deze video nog? En herinner je je hoe ik twee achtergronden maakte met de overschot aan Twinkling H2O's?

I always have some of those backgrounds laying around and they are perfect for those moments when you just want to have a play or you want to get some things out of your mind.
So for these two tags I decided I wanted to have a play with some of the fabulous words that Visible Image has. There are so many of them and I love just going through all of them and then find the perfect ones to be put together and which fit my mind set.

Ik heb altijd wel een paar van die achtergronden liggen die perfect zijn voor momenten waarop je gewoon even snel wil spelen of als je iets uit je hoofd wil krijgen.
Voor deze twee tags wou ik graag gewoon aan de slag met een paar van de prachtige woorden die de Visible Image sets hebben. Er zijn er zoveel en ik vind het altijd zalig om er door te gaan en dan de perfecte woorden samen te brengen die neerzetten wat er in mijn hoofd speelt.

Be tough...

Sometimes you get an idea when you see a new set of stamps but for God knows what reason you just don't get it done immediately. But it sticks in your mind and this project was one of those. I knew what I wanted to make but for some reason I just kept making other projects first... until today ^.^
That circle stamps from the 'Shape it up' set needed to be pushed in drying texture paste!
I know it's not all that clear but you get a 3D circle with all the lines pushed down into it, I love it.
I used the Ranger texture paste so no problem to take out my watercolors to add some color ^.^
And when my circle was ready...it was just getting my ideas onto my paper.

Soms krijg je meteen een idee als je een nieuwe set stempels ziet maar voor God weet welke reden maak je het niet meteen.  Maar het blijft in je hoofd zitten en dit project was er zo eentje.  Ik wist wat ik wilde maken maar om een of andere reden maakte ik eerst andere projecten... tot vandaag ^.^
De cirkel uit de 'Shape it up' set moest gewoon in drogende textuur pasta geduwd worden!
Ik weet dat het moeilijk te zien is op de foto maar je krijgt dus eigenlijk een 3D cirkel met de lijnen erin geduwd als textuur en het ziet er super uit in het echt.
Ik gebruikte de Ranger textuur pasta dus het was super makkelijk om er met mijn aquarelverf was kleur op te zetten.
En eens mijn cirkel klaar was... kon ik aan de slag om mijn hoofd leeg te maken op mijn papier.

En je kent me alvast wel al goed genoeg om te weten dat ik ook altijd een woord gebruik om mijn gedachten van mijn project te bundelen.

It always feels so good when I can get my head blank and just create what I feel needs to be made...

Heerlijk is het als je je hoofd leeg kan maken en gewoon kan creëren wat je nodig hebt...
