Stand tall...

The new release by Visible Image... what is not to love?  It is filled with gorgeous images and... you've guessed it filled with words I just LOVE <3
So even though I thought it would be the 'Don't judge me' set to end up on my crafty table as the first one, it was this 'Deep in the forest' set.
No extras as you can see... this set has all it needs for me.

De nieuwe release van Visible Image... die is volgens mij gewoon super. Prachtige afbeeldingen en... oh ja, goed gegokt: prachtige woorden waar ik helemaal gek van ben <3
En hoewel ik dacht dat de 'Don't judge me' set de eerste zou zijn die op mijn tafel zou belanden, was het toch de 'Deep in the forest' set.
Geen extraatjes zoals je kan zien... deze set heeft alles wat nodig is.

Loads of twigs, all criss cross strangled into each other... and then looking at those words...
That just asked for one little twig to be covered in golden metal foil.

Zoveel twijgen, allemaal kris kras door elkaar... en als je dan naar die woorden kijkt...
Dat vroeg gewoon om één twijgje te volgen en te bedekken met gouden metaalfolie.

Stand tall, be resilient. I know that sometimes is so hard in this crazy world. But you have to believe in yourself, you can do this. And you do not have to do this alone.  Talk, ask, show... and I promise you there will be someone listening. Even if it is a stranger (you know sometimes strangers are the best listeners) share. Stand tall, be resilient, don't let this world pull you down. There is beauty, sometimes hidden very well and where you least expect it, but it is there and will become visible some day.

Maak jezelf groot, wees veerkrachtig.  Ik weet dat dit soms heel moeilijk is in deze gekke wereld waar alles op je af kan komen in een rotvaart. Maar je moet er op vertrouwen dat je dit kan. En je hoeft dit niet alleen te doen. Praat, vraag, laat zien... en ik beloof je dat er altijd iemand zal zijn die zal luisteren. Ook al is het een vreemde ( weet je dat een vreemde soms het best kan luisteren) deel.  Maak je groot, incasseer maar veer terug, laat deze wereld je niet breken. Er is iets moois, soms goed verstopt en op plaatsen waar je het niet verwacht, maar het is er wel en het wordt ooit weer zichtbaar.
Dikke knuffel.

25 - Thinking of you...

Christmas is the time of the year spend with family and friends. It's one of the few times we actually make room in our agenda and actually make sure we have time to go and visit everyone we hold close to our heart.
Except... not everyone is just around the corner, some of the ones we love live far away. And what do we do? Yes indeed, we send a card... letting them know we are thinking of them.
The card in the video today holds that message...

Kerstmis is de tijd van het jaar die we het liefst van alles doorbrengen met familie en vrienden. Het is één van de weinige momenten waarop we echt plaats maken in onze agenda om ook echt alles te laten vallen en op bezoek te gaan bij wie ons dierbaar is.
Alleen... niet iedereen woont dichtbij en net om de hoek. Dus wat doen we dan... Inderdaad, we sturen een kaartje waarin we laten weten dat we wel aan hun denken. En het kaartje in de video vandaag draagt net die boodschap mee.

Christmas is coming...

Okay, I have to face it: Christmas is coming. So that means I have to get started on making Christmas card except... that is the kind of cards I really hate to make. Not because I don't love Christmas or anything Christmassy because I do. I think it's just the fact that these cards are 'you HAVE to' make them that is turning me off.
So last year I tried to make a Holiday card series for the Christmas cards and I aimed on making 10 videos. I managed to make 5... ^.^
So I'm giving it a new try and today you can find a new video in the playlist 'Holiday card series'

Oke, ik moet het onder ogen gaan zien: kerst komt er aan. Dus dat wil zeggen dat ik toch maar moet gaan denken aan kerstkaarten, alleen... zijn dat nu net de kaarten die ik echt niet graag maak. Niet omdat ik niet van kerst houdt of alles wat met kerst te maken heeft. Ik denk dat het gewoon het feit is dat het zo een verplicht nummer is wat er voor zorgt dat ik er niet veel aan vind?
Dus vorig jaar probeerde ik een serie te maken op mijn youtube kanaal waarin ik 10 kaarten zou maken.  Ik haalde het tot 5 kaarten... ^.^
Dit jaar geef ik het een nieuwe poging en vandaag vind je de eerste nieuwe video in mijn afspeellijst 'Holiday card series'

So proud of you...

We all have our favorites. Favorite food, favorite TV-show, favorite pants, favorite color,... And while going through my creative stuff a while ago I caught myself on the fact that, next to my favorite shape of a circle and line, I really loved the diamond shape too.

Now the circle and line are special to me because they carry a message, the diamond on the other hand... I just love it for no obvious reason. Well at least at this moment. Maybe it might change in time but for now it just makes me happy. 

So for today's project I just knew I wanted to have a play with the diamonds in the De-stressed stamp set.  Does that mean I don't have a message in today's project? No...you know me, I can't stop that little thing inside me that makes me create the way I do. So I also took out a tiny little flower and some gorgeous words...

Enjoy the video as yes, I had my camera rolling. I do apologize for the cracky voice though... I have the honor to host a bug this week ^.^

We hebben allemaal wel onze favorieten. Ons favoriete eten, favoriete TV programma, zelfs een favoriete broek, een favoriete kleur,..  En toen ik een tijdje geleden eens door al mijn hobby spullen ging betrapte ik mezelf er op dat ik, naast mijn favoriete cirkel en lijn, ik eigenlijk ook wel heel gek ben van de ruitvorm.

De cirkel en de lijn hebben voor mij een diepere betekenis en dat maakt ze zo bijzonder, de ruit daarentegen is gewoon een vorm die ik leuk vind zonder enige reden. Wel op dit moment toch, misschien dat dit later nog verandert, nu maakt het me gewoon blij.

Dus voor het project vandaag wou ik gewoon eens terug aan de slag met de ruiten in de De-stressed set. Wil dat zeggen dat ik dan geen kleine boodschap in mijn project heb? Neen, dat 'iets' dat mij laat creëren zoals ik doe kan ik niet gewoon uitschakelen Dus nam ik ook een heel klein bloemeke en een prachtige tekst...

Geniet van de video, want ik had inderdaad de camera terug aan staan. Ik wil me wel verontschuldigen voor mijn gebroken stem. Ik ben even in gevecht met een klein virusje dat niet weg wil ^.^

So... who are you proud of?  And have you taken the chance to let that person actually know how proud you are of him/her?
And even just as important... how proud are you of yourself? And have you taken out the time to tell yourself.
You haven't?  What are you waiting for... it will make a world of difference and make this day special <3

Heb je jezelf al bedacht wie jou nu zo trots maakt? En heb je de kans al genomen om het hem/haar ook echt te vertellen?
Maar net even belangrijk... hoe trots ben je op jezelf? En heb je de tijd al genomen om het tegen jezelf te zeggen?

Look forward...

Those wings... they were the first to jump right into my eyes when I saw the release of this set Faerie magic. They look perfect with the faerie but I already saw myself use them separately. 
So I took out some stazon ink and a piece of sturdy plastic, cut them all out... and then just started playing with laying them out in different ways. Hmm maybe bring in a black circle... which was a bit to dark so I needed to break that up...

Die vleugels... zij sprongen als eerste in mijn ogen toen ik de set Faerie magic voor het eerst zag. Ze zijn gewoon perfect voor de fee maar ik wist gewoon al dat ik ze ook op zich zou gaan gebruiken.
Dus nam ik stazon inkt en een stukje transparant, sneed ze allemaal uit... en ging ze dan in allerlei combinaties bij elkaar gaan leggen.  Hmmm  misschien even kijken wat er gebeurt als ik er een zwarte cirkel bij neem? Al vond ik die net iets te zwart dus ik had iets nodig om dat een beetje te breken...

Never did I think that the wings would end up as flower petals on my first project using them ^.^
And of course I needed some words... No surprise when I tell you I didn't need to look really hard to find those in all the perfect words Visible Image has do I ^.^

Nooit had ik gedacht dat de vleugels als bloemblaadjes zouden eindigen op mijn eerste project ^.^
En natuurlijk had ik ook woorden nodig... Geen verrassing als ik zeg dat ik helemaal geen moeite moest doen om die te vinden denk ik ^.^

Sometimes life is fragile, but it is in full bloom and there is nothing better to do than to look forward. Find those golden spots when everything is dark, those are the ones that will pull you through <3

Soms is het leven heel fragiel, maar het is in volle bloei en het beste wat je kan doen is voorwaarts kijken. Zoek die gouden vlekjes als alles donker is, want hoe klein ze ook zijn ze zullen je alle kracht geven die je nodig hebt <3

Just breathe

You are beautiful...

I'm into positive and motivational words lately. I'm sharing one every Monday on my instagram as I think it's so important to lift each other up. Do we always have to be 100% positive? No... of course not. Life isn't a fairytale every single minute. Trust me, I know, and I know there are people off far worse than what I have to deal with sometimes.
But I honestly believe that every time someone knocks you on the ground, you need to find a way to get back up on your feet again. If not tomorrow, maybe the day after. And why shouldn't we help each other with that. Why shouldn't we try to be a little positive spark in someone's dark moments? Try it, it's not that hard at all...

Ik ben de laatste tijd wel bezig met positieve woorden. Elke maandag deel ik op mijn instagram een quote omdat ik denk dat het best wel belangrijk is dat we elkaar wat positief proberen ondersteunen. Moet alles altijd 100% positief te zijn? Neen, natuurlijk niet. Het leven is echt niet altijd rozengeur en maneschijn. Geloof me, ik weet dat zelf heel goed, en ik weet ook dat er mensen zijn die het nog veel harder hebben dan ik op sommige momenten.
Maar ik geloof echt dat, elke keer dat het leven je op de grond gooit, je wel een manier moet vinden op terug recht te gaan staan. Blijven liggen is geen optie, dat helpt je niet vooruit. En lukt het morgen niet, ook goed maar misschien dan wel overmorgen. En waarom zouden we elkaar hierbij niet helpen? Waarom zouden we niet kunnen proberen om een klein lichtpuntje te zijn voor iemand die dat lichtpuntje nodig heeft? Probeer het eens, het is echt niet zo moeilijk als het lijkt...

On today's project, I'm again took one of the words out of the 'Look forward with hope' set. I absolutely love this set, and so many other words Visible Image has.  But this set in particular stole my heart. I've used it in previous projects if you want to see more inspiration...

Voor de tag van vandaag gebruikte ik opnieuw de set 'Look forward with hope'. Ik ben helemaal weg van deze set. Ook van de andere woorden die Visible Image heeft, maar deze set heeft een bijzonder plaatsje op dit moment. Ik gebruikte hem ook in andere projecten mocht je nog op zoek zijn naar andere inspiratie...

Today I choose...

We all need some peace and calm in our lives. And one way to get that for me is to pull out my watercolors and just start by making a background. Seeing those watercolors move on my papers is the thing that turns a switch in my brains and have me calm in no time.

Finding that time to get away from all the crazy things going on in the world and your daily life is a choice. I know, we often say: I don't have time because I still need to do this and that oh and this too of course. We can keep running, there is enough to do. But why not choose to take some me time? Taking care of yourself should always come before worrying about a lot of less important stuff. and then I'm not talking about being selfish, but really taking CARE of yourself! Think about it, what can be more important than making sure you are okay? Only if you take care of yourself, making sure you are strong (physically but also mentally) will make it able for you to take on other tasks. 

And as a mum I am telling myself right now: you are lying, your kids will always come first. And they most definitely will. But at the same time I do know that I can't be there for the full 100% if i don't take care off myself...

So today I chose... so I can be strong enough to take on what comes my way.

Iedereen heeft nood aan rust in zijn leven. En voor mij is een van de manieren om dat te krijgen, gewoon aan de slag gaan met mijn aquarelverf. Als ik de verf over mijn papier zie gaan draait er meteen een knop om in mijn hoofd en ik word gewoon meteen rustig.
Tijd vinden om die rust te krijgen en even te ontsnappen aan die drukke gekke wereld is een keuze. En ik weet het wel, er is nog zoveel te doen want dit moet klaar en dat ook nog oh en dan hebben we ook nog dat wat moet afgehandeld worden. We kunnen blijven rondrennen, er is altijd wel iets te doen.  Maar waarom kiezen we zo moeilijk om wat me-time in te lassen?
Voor jezelf zorgen zou altijd op de eerste plaats komen. En dan heb ik het niet over egoïstisch zijn maar echt ZORGEN voor jezelf! Denk er eens over na, wat kan er belangrijker zijn dan er voor te zorgen dat je zelf oké bent? Alleen als je zorg draagt voor jezelf, zorgt dat je sterk bent, zowel fysiek als mentaal, kan je ook zorgen voor al die andere zaken die op je af komen.
En als mama bedenk ik me nu wel: neen, mijn kinderen zullen altijd eerst komen. En dat is ook zo, zij zijn mijn nummer één. Maar ik weet ook dat ik er niet voor hun kan zijn als ik mezelf in de put laat duwen...

Now who says Christmas stamps can only be used on Christmas projects? I loved this set the moment it was release and I still do. And you want to know why? Well, maybe you can guess... Yes indeed... those words ^.^ And today I'm using one of them on an art journal page, showing you that Santa doesn't need to be flying by in his slay to go ahead and use them ^.^ I took out some watercolors ( duh) some pastes and my art journal and even a second set of beautiful Visible Image stamps...

 Wie zegt dat kerst stempels enkel te gebruiken zijn voor kerst projecten? Ik viel als een blok toen ik deze set vorig jaar voor het eerst zag en dat gevoel is niet verandert. Waarom? Misschien kunnen jullie het wel raden? Yep, inderdaad... die woorden ^.^ En vandaag gebruik ik één ervan op een art journal pagina en laat ik graag zien dat de Kerstman echt niet voorbij hoeft te vliegen in zijn slee om ermee aan de slag te gaan ^.^ Ik nam mijn aquarel verfjes ( duh) mijn pasta's, mijn art journal en ook een tweede set van de Visible Image stempels...

When I was in an other DT more than a year ago, I was offered some Deco Art products to work with amongst which were some acrylics. Yet, the watercolor bug had already bitten me so I just went and did my thing using the acrylics kind of how I used my watercolors. No idea if it would work but if you don't try... you'll never know I guess ^.^ 

I was happy with the results, except for the fact it did stain my paper faster than my watercolors would, and of course it's stained permanently. Which has its advantages too... sometimes...

Anyway, this background turned out more than okay so I kept building on it and I happened to have recorded it so, time to finally share it. Enjoy

Toen ik een hele tijd geleden in een ander DT zat, werden er ook Deco Art producten toegezonden om mee te werken waaronder een paar van de acrylverven. Het aquarelvirus had me echter al gebeten dus deed ik gewoon mijn ding zoals ik met aquarelverf doe. Geen idee of het zou werken maar als je het niet probeert dan weet je het nooit toch?

Ik was best tevreden met de resultaten, behalve met het feit dat het zich soms sneller vast zet op je papier en lijnen geeft die je niet meer weg krijgt. Het heeft natuurlijk een voordeel dat het permanent is de acrylverf... tenminste... soms...

Maar kijk, ik was echt blij met de achtergrond voor dit project dus bouwde ik er verder op en ik had de camera toen aan staan dus hoog tijd om deze eens van onder het stof te halen. Veel plezier!

A little sprinkle...

Can't believe it? Well it's absolutely true: I've made a Christmas card in August!! Well, even more than one but today I would love to share the very first one I've made.  As soon as I saw the new release for Christmas stamps by Visible Image this design just popped in my head. I took out my watercolors because I really wanted the line of trees in black popping up against a snowy night sky.  

Kan je het geloven? Doe toch maar: ik maakte zomaar een kerstkaart in augustus. Wel eigenlijk maakte ik er wel meerdere maar vandaag laat ik jullie graag de allereerste zien die ik maakte.  Zodra ik de nieuwe stempels zag die Visible Image naar buiten bracht was dit ontwerp het eerste dat in mijn hoofd sprong. Aquarelverf in de aanslag want ik wou die rij met bomen tegen een winterse nachtelijke hemel stempelen...

And of course I wanted to add one of those beautiful Christmas sentiments and I went for the perfect sentiment to match my tiny twinkling star...

En natuurlijk wou ik één van die prachtige Kerst teksten op mijn kaart verwerken. En ik ging voor de tekst die perfect bij mijn kleine twinkelende ster pastte...

Christmas Eve

Sentimental Christmas

Stay grounded...

It has been a long time since I took out my texture paste and every time I do, I remember how much I love it. Seeing the watercolors flow on there is really so so relaxing. So taking out my texture paste also meant taking out a stencil an today that was the Ink swirl stencil. And I wanted to interrupt those lines with one of my favorite shapes: a circle.
And of course... I want some words. Visible Image has so many of them to choose from and I ended up with stay grounded to put in my circle. And of course... I matched it up with a tiny black cracked heart.

Het was al lang geleden dat ik nog eens mijn textuur pasta boven haalde en elke keer ik dat doe herinner ik me waarom ik het zo graag gebruik.  Daarop spelen met aquarelverf is zo zo kalmerend. Textuur pasta wil ook zeggen dat ik een stencil boven haalde en vandaag is dat het Inks swirls stencil. En ik wou die lijnen graag onderbreken met een van mijn favoriete vormen, een cirkel.
En natuurlijk wil ik ook een paar woorden. Visible Image heeft er een heleboel om uit te kiezen en ik kwam uit op 'stay grounded' om in mijn cirkel te zetten. En ik moest daar gewoon een klein zwart gecracked hartje bij zetten.

Into the woods

One kind word

Ink swirls

A guardian angel...

I just fell in love... I really did. When we first saw the new designs Visible Image would be releasing and I saw this angel on my screen I just... yep: fell in love ^.^  And then begins the hardest part, waiting until those stamps actually arrive at your home.  And then finally my angel arrived only... I was so occupied with all different kind of things so time to create wasn't an option.

But you know what they say, blood always goes where it can't go so I did stamp my gorgeous angel and in small steps I at least wanted to try and get to know him, discover those layers and see how I needed to color him.

Ik viel gewoon als een blok... echt waar.  Toen we voor het eerst de ontwerpen zagen welke Visible Image zouden uitbrengen en ik zag de set met deze engel op mijn scherm... yep: ik viel als een blok ^.^ En dan begint het moeilijkste deel, wachten tot de stempels eindelijk bij je thuis aankomen. En eens mijn engel hier aankwam... had ik gewoon geen tijd om creatief aan de slag te gaan. Zoveel dingen die mijn aandacht nodig hadden dus stempelen zat er even niet in.

Maar je weet wat ze zeggen: bloed kruipt waar het niet kruipen kan dus stempelde ik hem toch een paar keer af want ik wou hem zo graag leren kennen. Zien hoe de plooien liepen, hoe ik hem zou kunnen inkleuren,...

And then finally there is enough time to make a little project so I started coloring him all over again,  just because I finally could just go and take out enough time to keep coloring instead of having to color him in different little steps.

En dan is er eindelijk voldoende tijd om een klein projectje te maken dus begon ik helemaal vanaf nul en kleurde hem helemaal opnieuw in, gewoon omdat het kon en ik genoeg tijd had om hem in één stuk te kleuren zonder het in stukjes te moeten doen.

And then finally give him his wings. Those gorgeous wings!  And looking at his hands, I thought those were perfect to give him something to carry. So I cut up the words, which I think gives them even more strength ...
CAS but it filled my heart with joy being able to finally have a play with my angel and some watercolors ^.^

En toen gaf ik hem eindelijk zijn vleugels, die prachtige vleugels! En toen ik zijn handen zag, wou ik hem graag iets laten vastnemen. Dus knipte ik de tekst in twee stukken, waardoor ik zelf vind dat ze nog krachtiger worden...
CAS maar het maakte mij zo blij om eindelijk met hem aan de slag te kunnen samen met mijn aquarelverfjes ^.^

Now this was my very first project I made with my angel, it however is not the first project I shared here. I have been away from my youtube channel too due to the lack of creative time so i did decide to share my video with this angel earlier. If you missed out on it. Deze tag was dan wel het allereerste project dat ik maakte met mijn engel, het is wel niet het eerste project dat ik hier op mijn blog en sociale media deelde. Net omdat ik zo weinig tijd had om echt creatief bezig te zijn heb ik ook mijn youtube kanaal wat verwaarloosd dus besliste ik om mijn video waar ik met de engel aan de slag ging eerst te delen met jullie. Arteza product reviews...

A while ago I was reached out to by the company Arteza with the question if I would be interested in reviewing some of their products. Well... I am a curious girl and especially if there are watercolors and watercolor pencils so I agreed. I received a beautiful pack which contained the 36 set of watercolors, a tin with 72 watercolor pencils and two packs of their Expert watercolor paper.
So time to play and take a closer look at them...

Don't...

I've always hold off on working in an actual bound art journal.  I love working with layers and metal wire and texture and above all I don't want the color on one page to run through and contaminate another page.  I also loved the size my tags gave me so why would I do what I do in a journal knowing it would hold me back to do some things.
But yet, I always loved the idea of having it in an actual journal and I decided to give it a try (I shared my first page a while ago right HERE)
Today... I made my second page in it and yes... it became very clear that I really need to start thinking and working different when working in my art journal, even though I have loose papers.  I ran into a little problem that for me was kind of a big problem as I am a bit of a perfectionist ^.^
But all ended well as you can see in the video, I managed to fix it without any trouble.

Ik ben het altijd uit de weg gegaan om in een echt gebonden boek te werken. Ik hou er immers van om met lagen, ijzerdraad en textuur te werken en bovenal wil ik niet dat een kleur van één pagina doorloopt naar de andere en daar vlekken nalaat. Ik hou ook enorm van de maat van mijn tags dus waarom zou ik in een echt gebonden art journal gaan werken als ik weet dat het mij zou tegenhouden om bepaalde dingen te gaan doen.
En toch, bleef ik ergens wel zin hebben om alles mooi ingebonden te hebben in een echt boek dus... ben ik toch overstag gegaan ( ik deelde mijn eerste pagina al met jullie HIER)
En vandaag  maakte ik mijn tweede pagina en ja hoor... het werd heel duidelijk dat ik op een andere manier moet gaan denken en werken in mijn art journal, ook al heb ik nog steeds losse vellen papier. Ik had een klein probleempje dat voor mij eigenlijk best even een schrik momentje was aangezien ik nu eenmaal een pietje precies ben ^.^
Het is allemaal gewoon netjes opgelost geraakt, zoals je kan zien in de video.

Ik ben wel benieuwd... ik zeg er zelf niets over in de video, maar hebben jullie het gezien?
