Drawing faces...

Lately this question/discussion pops up among my friends and on my social media: are we artist's or just people with a hobby.
I see myself as someone with a hobby, not an artist at all. The simple reason for that is: I can't draw. My parents gave that talent to my brother ^.^ Being able to start from scratch, drawing or painting every single line themselves, writing every word and bring a text that touches my soul... that's what I call an artist. Educated or self taught doesn't matter.
I would love to be able to draw. So thankful there are stamps helping me out, and how happy I was when the 'Face it' set from Visible Image came together with the stencil. Maybe I would be able now to "make" a "drawing" of a face?  I had to give it a try...

And I was so happy with the outcome.  It really looks like a drawn face even though I cheated and started out with the stamps and the stencil. They made a perfect base for me and my plain grey pencils.
I will definitely will have another go at this. Anyone want to give it a try?

Time...

When you first see new released stamps all those ideas start spinning around in your head. Especially when seeing all these lovely words in the 'Somewhere in time' set. I'm a sucker for word...and have a soft spot for strong words.

And one of the first ideas when seeing the clock in the 'Ahead of our time' was this...trying to create a fossil look. As the shape of this clock immediately reminded me of that shape of old fossilized shells.

To get the word time to pop up I stamped it onto paper and fussy cut them out. Another layer of texture ^.^ Remember the challenge over at Visible Image called dimension ...you can still join in to make a chance at winning the coupon off 40£ to spend in their online shop!

The complete project was made onto a monolith so I can put this little reminder out to see every day. Now to figure out what to put on the back ^.^

Qor Watercolors...

A while ago...I received some new watercolors. Not just new colors...no a completely new brand to me. I'm talking about the Qor watercolors, a brand brought to you by Golden.  Maybe that's a name that rings a bell ^.^
Maybe it's new to you too so I went ahead and made a review on them from a crafter point of view.  And of course I had to go ahead and make a project with them too...

I'm really curious what you think about the review to know if there is something you missed on info. So let me know!

Trust...

Backgroundstamps... I think half of my stamps are background stamps. When you look at them you could think you can't do a lot with them, but a beautiful background adds so much to your project. And for today's project it's no difference.
I went ahead and had fun creating my background by taking this Stampendous-Andy Skinner background stamp a step further instead of just stamping it...  Want to see more? Head on over to the  Mixed Up magazine blog to find the complete VIDEO tutorial.

Live life...

I love to pimp up objects and when finding this little wooden tool box I immediately knew what I wanted to do.  Sand of the text that was on it, give it a new coat of white paint and stamp it with Visible Image stamps ^.^

The original text was to big to put on the front but leaving the 'now' off still gives you a beautiful reminder. If you are looking for more inspiration with the Visible Image stamps, and yes also with the new releases, take a look over at the social media of Visible Image or come and join the facebook group.

Past...future...

So I promised I would be back with some more inspiration for this month's challenge over at Visible Image. Today I'm only using paper, some metal wire and a bit of gaze to add my structure...

I stamped both words (past and future) and my sentiment on some thicker paper, cut it out to glue it back on again. Might sound a bit silly but it does help to create some depth ;-)
To put my word Future in the spotlight I layered it on top of a gear diecut ( two layers of 300 gsm watercolor paper) To ground this element I have put some bandage underneath that was secured again with some metal wire as I did with my sentiment.

Yes, my future is looking very bright with this golden watercolors ^.^

Now...this is just a first project with the new stamps Visible Image will be releasing on June 9th. Loads more to come as I have so many ideas in my head. You should go and CHECK THEM OUT as they open so many possibilities. Just go and read all those beautiful words...<3

A new challenge over at Visible Image...

A new month so that means... a new challenge over at Visible Image and this time it's...

Dimension... does it surprise you that I LOVE this challenge ^.^
So I don't have to hurt my brain to much to go and create for this challenge. In fact I can already share an "older" project that you might not have seen earlier. That is if you didn't read last month's Craft Stamper as it's been published in it. Some of my Visible Image teamies and I went and had some fun with the Visible Image monoliths...

This was the sneek peak that I shared earlier...

Deze sneekpeak werd eerder door mij gedeeld...

I loved making this structured base...

And I kicked the roughness back by using soft elements such as the beautiful closed eyes of the 'Face it ' stamps and the fragile words from the 'Life can be tough' stamp.

En tegenover zoveel structuur wou ik heel graag zachtere elementen plaatsen zoals de prachtige gesloten ogen uit de 'Face it' set en de fragiele woorden van de 'Life can be tough' stempel.

Last week I even shared this youtube tutorial showing a fun technique to add extra texture in your background...

Now don't wonder off to far, I'll be back tomorrow with a new project where I have used dimension while using these NEW beauties...
