Fight back the tears...

We all have those moments where life is a bit of a struggle, even sometimes a hell of a hard fight. A fight to keep standing up with your back straight and your head held up high while life keeps throwing challenges at your feet.

With some of those personal challenges in mind I created this project.

We hebben allemaal momenten waarop het leven best wel een klein gevecht is, soms zelfs een redelijk hard gevecht. Een gevecht om rechtop te blijven staan met een rechte rug en je hoofd opgeheven terwijl het leven je van alles voor de voeten gooit.

Met enkele van die persoonlijke uitdagingen in gedachten maakte ik het project van vandaag.

I chose some words from the 'Disguise of a smile' set that were perfect for this project and combined them with some background stamps. And then the choice of the colors. I know... you didn't expect me to use bright pink right ^.^  

Even though I don't use bright pink a lot, for me personal it does have a meaning. Pink is that color I'll turn to if I need a reminder to stay positive, no matter how dark it becomes around me.

I loved how the little blank spaces in the universal circle also gave me the chance to play with the amount of black in this project...

Ik koos een paar woorden uit de 'Disguise of a smile' set die perfect waren voor dit project en combineerde ze met een paar achtergrond stempels. End an de kleurkeuze.  Ik weet het... weinig onder jullie hadden waarschijnlijk verwacht dat ik voor een knalroze zou gaan ^.^

Ook al gebruik ik bijna nooit zo fel roze, voor mij persoonlijk is het wel een kleur met een betekenis. Roze is dat kleur waar ik heen ga als ik een geheugensteuntje nodig heb om positief te blijven, ongeacht van hoe donker het wordt rondom mij.

Ik vond he took super hoe de cirkel van de 'Universal' set me de kans gaf om te spelen met de hoeveelheid zwart er juist in dit projectje geplaatst werd...

Time...

Time... we all are short on that sometimes.

Tijd...iedereen heeft daar soms wel wat te kort van.

But we should never be short on time to be happy. And I know, life can be hard and sometimes break us down so hard that we don't see ourselves be happy again. That black hole just keeps pulling us down...

Maar we zouden nooit te weinig tijd mogen hebben waarin we gelukkig zijn. En ik weet heel goed dat het leven heel hard kan zijn, en je gewoon knock out tegen de grond slaat. Momenten waarop we onszelf nooit meer gelukkig zien worden en dat zwarte gat gewoon aan ons blijft trekken...

It might take some time but there's always that moment when that darkness starts to disappear, when you start seeing the beauty around you again...

Het kan veel tijd en geduld vragen maar er komt vroeg of laat een moment waarop die duisternis begint te verdwijnen, dat je ziet wat voor moois er zich rond je bevindt...

Ahead of our time

Dare to swim...

Sometimes a card doesn't need loads of bells and whistles and a simple stamp combined with a beautiful text is all it needs. And Visible Image has loads of sets that can do just that. Today I'm sharing a take on such a CAS card using the 'Dare to swim' stamp set. I love the words this set holds as it so true. I chose to combine it with a CAS version of the jellyfish ( using perfect pearls to put him down)  so my words wouldn't get lost.

If only we would dare to swim a bit deeper sometimes...

Soms heeft een kaart helemaal geen toeters en bellen nodig en is een enkele stempel gecombineerd met een mooie tekst het enige wat nodig is.  Visible Image heeft heel veel sets die zich perfect lenen voor dit soort kaarten. Vandaag deel ik een CAS kaartje waarbij ik de 'Dare to swim' set gebruikte.  Ik vind deze woorden prachtig omdat ze gewoon de waarheid neerzetten.  Ik combineerde het met een hele rustige versie van de kwal ( die met perfect pearls is neergezet) zodat mijn woorden niet verloren gingen.

Als we nu allemaal iets meer lef hadden om wat dieper te kijken...

Dare to swim

Believe...

I'm here again with...yep a project made using one of the new releases of  Visible Image. When my daughter saw this set she immediately fell in love, ok ok I'll admit i fell just as hard ^.^  My daughter just fell in love with this beautiful moon stamp and me...I fell for the clouds.  For now I used them as a cloud but I can tell you I do have another idea in my head for them ^.^
But today a card where it's actually one of the stars that get's the full attention. I kept the card CAS and monochromatic ( shouldn't be any surprise with me) only the star really had to shine so I used metal foil to put it in the spotlight...

Ik kom terug even langs met...ja je raadt het al. Een projectje gemaakt met één van de nieuwe stempels van Visible Image.  Toen mijn dochter deze set zag... was ze meteen verkocht, ok ok ik geef het toe, we waren allebei verkocht ^.^  Mijn dochter viel voor de maan en ik... voor de wolken ^.^ Op dit projectje heb ik ze nog even gebruikt als wolken maar ik kan nu al verklappen dat ik er eigenlijk een ander idee voor heb ^.^ Maar voor vandaag dus dit kaartje waarbij de hoofdrol eigenlijk naar een ster gaat uit de set. Ik hield alles heel rustig en monochroom ( dat mag geen verrassing zijn bij mij) alleen de ster moest echt blinken dus die heb ik in metaalfolie aangebracht...

Christmas challenge

So...last year I had the intention on making one Christmas card each month so I wouldn't have to struggle at the end of the year in making loads of Christmas cards. Well that only worked for the first 2 months ^.^  So I'm going to give it a second try this year.
So here it is...my first Christmas card for this year...

Dus...vorig jaar had ik het goede voornemen genomen om elke maand een kerstkaart te maken zodat ik op het einde niet moest lopen en rennen om al mijn kaarten klaar te krijgen.  Maar dat werkte enkel de eerste 2 maanden ^.^ Dus ik geef het een nieuwe kans dit jaar.
Deze maand is het gelukt: mijn eerste kerstkaart voor dit jaar...

With sympathy...

Not the card you want to hand over...but sometimes you need a sympathy card.  And almost every time I grab that little feather from the Visible Image stamp set Learn to fly again. I love how fragile it is. To finish my card off I added a little touch of silver metalsheet on the feather and around the card.

Niet meteen een kaartje dat je graag overhandigt...maar soms heb je nu eenmaal een rouwkaartje nodig. En bijna altijd grijp ik dan naar het kleine veertje van Visible Image uit de Learn to fly again set. Ik vind het zo goed weergeven hoe fragiel alles is. En om mijn kaartje af te werken heb ik er kleine accenten van een zilveren metal sheet op aangebracht.

Hearts...

CAS cards...I have to admit that I love them and a lot of the times they only need one little element. In the Visible Image set "Own kind of beautiful" there are two hearts, a bigger one and a tiny one and they were just perfect to make these cards. Starting off with the bigger heart....

CAS kaartjes, ik moet toegeven dat ik ze heel graag maak en heel vaak hebben ze enkel een klein elementje nodig. In de Visible Image stempelset "Own kind of beautiful" zitten er twee harten, eentje is iets groter, het andere klein en fijn. En ik maakte twee kaartjes waarop ik ze allebei gebruikte. Het eerste kaartje met het grotere hart...

Not clear to see but the heart is embossed and the "heartbeat" was stamped using golden ink.

Niet zo heel duidelijk op de eerste foto maar het hart werd met rood embossinpoeder gezet en de "hartslag" werd met gouden inkt gestempeld.

Even in our darkest moments...

On my last project I shared a card using the tiny heart of the "Own kind of beautiful" stampset from Visible Image. Well today I have used the butterflies in this stampset and combined it with the text from another Visible Image set: "Glimmer of light".

Op mijn laatste kaartje liet ik zien hoe ik aan de slag ging met het kleine hartje van de "Own kind of beautiful" stempelset van Visible Image. Vandaag laat ik jullie graag een kaartje zien waarbij ik de vlinder uit deze stempelset combineerde met een andere stempelset van Visible Image namelijk "Glimmer of light".

... I just love love love how these two sets come together...

... ik vind het gewoon prachtig om te zien hoe mooi en passend deze twee sets samen komen...

Tiny heart...

I love this Visible Image stampset, it gives you so much possibilities.  I really wanted to put the tiny heart in the spotlight and I love how it worked out.

Ik vind deze stempelset van Visible Image geweldig, er zijn zoveel mogelijkheden met deze set. Voor dit kaartje wilde ik het kleine hartje in de schijnwerpers zetten en ik ben helemaal blij met het eindresultaat.

Now I needed a word to go along so... I just masked my sentiment leaving me nothing else but the you out of 'your' and I had it ^.^ I could have used the complete sentiment ( but I did that on another card ;-) ) or just the "Beautiful" or the "Be" or even write "Be you"...Lots of possibilities ^.^ I'll share some really soon ;-)

 Nu had ik nog een woord nodig om er bij te zetten...dus maskeerde ik gewoon mijn sentiment helemaal tot ik enkel de you overhield uit het woord "your". Ik had  natuurlijk ook het volledige tekstje kunnen gebruiken (maar die werd op een andere kaart gebruikt) of enkel de "Beautiful" of enkel "Be" of zelfs "Be you"... Je ziet genoeg mogelijkheden ^.^ Ik laat er jullie binnenkort nog een paar zien ;-)

They are back...

It has been a while since I made a card but since I needed one... I just had a play. I took out my Visible Image stamps and my NeocolorII and ended up with this card...

Het is al even geleden dat ik nog een kaartje maakte maar ik had er eentje nodig dus...dan ga je gewoon even spelen toch? Ik nam er mijn Visible Image stempels bij en NeocolorII en eindigde bij dit kaartje...
