I had some Visible Image fun and to be more precise with this lovely stencil ^.^
Ik heb opnieuw wat Visible Image inspiratie en vandaag staat dit stencil in de schijnwerper ^.^
Now of course I had my take on it and I went ahead not making one but two projects. And even though they are very similar they ended up completely different.
I had the camera rolling for you guys...have fun ^.^
Natuurlijk deed ik er mijn eigen ding mee en maakte niet één maar meteen twee projecten. En ook al lijken ze wat opbouw betreft heel sterk op elkaar, toch zijn het twee totaal verschillende projecten. En ik had opnieuw de camera aan voor jullie... Veel plezier ^.^

Escape...everyone sometimes need to...
Escape from people, escape from situations, escape from lies or even escape the truth...
Ontsnappen... iedereen heeft daar ooit wel eens nood aan... Ontsnappen van mensen, ontsnappen uit situaties, ontsnappen aan leugens en zelfs aan de waarheid...
But you can't escape if you are not opening your mind for new beginnings. It might not be as easy as writing it down here, depending on what you have to leave behind.
Maar je ontsnapt nooit helemaal als je jou hoofd niet openstelt voor nieuwe dingen. En ik weet het, afhankelijk van wat je moet achterlaten is het niet altijd even makkelijk als het hier even neer te pennen.
Those stars might not be as bright as they should be, but give it time and believe that those wings will show you their true color.
De sterren zijn niet altijd even helder als ze zouden moeten zijn, maar geef het tijd en geloof er in dat die vleugels uiteindelijk hun echte kleur zullen laten zien.
Those stamps from Visible Image... they all make it so easy to put down so many of my thoughts.
And just another picture to show you the fabulous texture you can create using their stencils.
I'm a fan...but I think that's been obvious for a while now ^.^
De stempels van Visible Image... maken het zo makkelijk om veel van mijn gedachten neer te zetten. En ik laat ook even zien hoe ik met hun stencil ook wat structuur aan bracht.
Ik ben een fan...maar dat is volgens mij al heel lang duidelijk ^.^

Just parts...that's all I saw when making this project. Or look at it as making more out of your materials. You already know I immediately fell for all the beautiful words in the Family definition stamps, and how I wanted to be able to use them on their own too. If you would have missed out that project and the VIDEO tutorial on how to cut up your stamps then take a look HERE)
Now when seeing the Fibres stencil... yep I was doing the same thing. Looking for parts I could isolate and use on it's own.
Deeltjes... dat was het enige wat ik zag toen ik dit project maakte. Of je kan het ook bekijken als het maximum uit je materialen halen. Ik liet jullie al weten dat ik meteen voor de mooie woorden in de Family definition stempels viel, en hoe ik ze allemaal apart wou gaan gebruiken. Mocht je die post gemist hebben dan kan je hem samen met de VIDEO HIER terugvinden. En toen ik het Fibres stencil zag...yep ik deed net hetzelfde. Meteen aan het kijken of er delen waren die ik kon isoleren om ze op zich te gebruiken.
I've kept it white but layed down some pearlescent watercolors on my structurepaste to give it a soft finish. A shame it wasn't that easy to catch in on my photograph.
And then I chose some words that absolutely speak of my sister...
Ik hield mijn struktuur pasta wit maar kleurde het toch wat bij met zilveren aquarelverf om het een zachte afwerking te geven. Spijtig genoeg kreeg ik dat niet helemaal goed op de foto. En dan koos ik een paar woorden die echt echt passen bij mijn zus...

It has been a while since I shared something from my Breathe art
journal. Sometimes I feel the need to create in it more than other moments.
Today I do want to share a video I made some months ago but didn't share
here yet.
It's a page that has so many hidden messages what makes it one of my
most meaningful pages in my journal. I hope you enjoy the video...
Het is al een hele tijd geleden dat ik nog een pagina uit mijn Breathe journal deelde. Soms heb ik meer nood om daarin te werken dan op andere momenten.
Vandaag deel ik graag een video die ik een hele tijd geleden maakte maar hier nog niet deelde. Het is een pagina dat zoveel verschillende elementen heeft met betekenis voor mij waardoor het een van de meest waardevolle pagina's is. Ik hoop dat jullie de video leuk vinden...
If you wonder how I got these rusted metals... just natural rust and
it's as easy as can be.
Als
je benieuwd bent hoe ik de geroeste metalen rondelen kreeg... gewoon natuurlijk
roest en het is zo makkelijk te krijgen.
To start I try to put some dents into my metal. Not very easy but I bang
on it using a hammer, lay them down on some rough stones and scratch them by
moving them around using my foot.
Then it's time to give them a bath... and a second one that is made of
pure white vinegar. You can dilute it down to half water-half vinegar if you
want to reduce the smell. When they have been in there for a couple of
hours or overnight you can take them out. You'll see them turn black, other
metals don't change colour, that depends on the metal.
While they are still wet throw some regular table salt
on top of them. As little or as much as you want. The more you put on, the
better your metals will be "eaten" and rust.
Om
te beginnen probeer ik altijd wat krassen en deuken in mijn metaal aan te
brengen. Niet altijd even makkelijk maar ik sla er op met een hamer of leg ze
op ruwe stenen en kras ze erover heen met mijn voet.
Dan
even afwassen en daarna gaan ze in een bad met puur witte wijnazijn. Je kan het
voor de helft verdunnen met wat water als je de geur wat wil dempen. Laat hen
er een paar uren of tijdens de nacht in liggen voor je ze er uit haalt. Je zal
zien dat sommigen verkleurd zijn, niet elk metaal reageert hetzelfde.
Nu
ze nog nat zijn gooi je er gewoon tafelzout over. Je kan kiezen hoeveel zout je
er op gooit. Hoe meer zout, hoe meer je metaal wordt "aangevreten" en
hoe meer roest je krijgt.
Give it another couple of hours or leave it overnight
again. And there it is…beautiful rust. If you wipe your metals
however you’ll see you can still remove a lot of the rust. So either you seal
it with a varnish or you just go and repeat these two steps again. Don’t be
scared, the vinegar will take away all the rust but when you give it a second
batch of salt it returns. You can go and repeat these steps as much as you want
until you are happy with the results. I only do these steps twice and finish
off by removing some of the salt I have put down in the end. Then I lay
them outside a couple of days when it’s raining. And you’ll see how beautifully
the rusting really gets.
Laat het
zout er opnieuw een paar uren of een nachtje op liggen. En daar is het: prachtig
roest. Als je echter over je metaal wrijft zal je zien dat het roest voor een
groot deel weg kan gehaald worden. Dus je kan er voor kiezen om het nu gewoon
te beschermen met een laagje vernis uit een spuitbus bijvoorbeeld of je kan de
stappen gewoon even herhalen. Niet schrikken als je ziet dat je roest verdwijnt
als je het in het azijnbad legt. Als je er later opnieuw zout op gooit komt het
gewoon terug. Je kan deze stappen nog vaker herhalen maar ik stop na twee
beurten. Daarna kies ik er echter voor om mijn metaal nog even in de regen
buiten te leggen met deze geroeste metalen als gevolg.
All that is left now is creating ^.^ If you try it out...let me know on any of my social media, I would love to see what you create.
Het enige wat je nu nog moet doen is creatief aan de slag gaan ^.^ Als je het uitprobeert, geef dan zeker eens een gil op mijn sociale media, ik zie heel graag wat jullie allemaal maken.
When you first see new released stamps all those ideas start spinning around in your head. Especially when seeing all these lovely words in the 'Somewhere in time' set. I'm a sucker for word...and have a soft spot for strong words.
Als je nieuwe stempels ziet die uitkomen dan gaan er altijd een heleboel ideeën in je hoofd gaan rondspoken. En al helemaal toen ik de nieuwe woorden zag in de 'Somewhere in time' set. Ik heb een zwak voor sterke woorden...
And one of the first ideas when seeing the clock in the 'Ahead of our time' was this...trying to create a fossil look. As the shape of this clock immediately reminded me of that shape of old fossilized shells.
En één van de eerste ideetjes die in mij opkwamen toen ik de klok in de 'Ahead of our time' set zag was om een fossiel te proberen nabootsen. De vorm van de klok bracht me meteen bij oude foto's van fossiele schelpen.
To get the word time to pop up I stamped it onto paper and fussy cut them out. Another layer of texture ^.^ Remember the challenge over at Visible Image called dimension ...you can still join in to make a chance at winning the coupon off 40£ to spend in their online shop!
Om het woord time goed te laten uitkomen heb ik het eerst gestempeld en nadien heel fijn uitgesneden. Nog een extra laagje ^.^ Herinneren jullie je nog de uitdaging die loopt bij Visible Image: Dimensie. Jullie kunnen nog altijd meedoen en zo kans maken op een bon van 40£ om te spenderen in hun online shop.
The complete project was made onto a monolith so I can put this little reminder out to see every day. Now to figure out what to put on the back ^.^
Het volledige project is gemaakt op een monolith zodat het zichtbaar kan blijven staan als een kleine reminder. Nu bedenken wat ik op de achterkant ga zetten ^.^

So I promised I would be back with some more inspiration for this month's challenge over at Visible Image. Today I'm only using paper, some metal wire and a bit of gaze to add my structure...
Ik beloofde jullie dat ik terug kwam met wat meer inspiratie voor de uitdaging bij Visible Image. Vandaag bracht ik dimensie aan door gewoon papier, wat ijzerdraad en een beetje verband aan te brengen..
I stamped both words (past and future) and my sentiment on some thicker paper, cut it out to glue it back on again. Might sound a bit silly but it does help to create some depth ;-)
To put my word Future in the spotlight I layered it on top of a gear diecut ( two layers of 300 gsm watercolor paper) To ground this element I have put some bandage underneath that was secured again with some metal wire as I did with my sentiment.
Ik stempelde mijn woorden past- future en mijn quote op wat dikker papier, sneed ze uit en kleefde ze terug op. Klinkt wat idioot maar het helpt je op een simpele manier om diepte te creëren in je werkstuk ;-)
Om mijn woord Future in de spotlight te zetten bracht ik hem aan bovenop een uitgestanst tandwiel ( 2 lagen 300 gr aquarelpapier) En omdat dit element niet zomaar zou zweven op mijn project zette ik het op wat verband dat net als mijn sentiment met wat ijzerdraad werd vastgezet.
Yes, my future is looking very bright with this golden watercolors ^.^
Yep, mijn toekomst schittert mij tegemoet met de gouden aquarelverf ^.^
Now...this is just a first project with the new stamps Visible Image will be releasing on June 9th. Loads more to come as I have so many ideas in my head. You should go and CHECK THEM OUT as they open so many possibilities. Just go and read all those beautiful words...<3

A new month so that means... a new challenge over at Visible Image and this time it's...
Er is een nieuwe maand gestart dus dat wil zeggen...een nieuwe uitdaging bij Visible Image en deze keer is het...
Dimension... does it surprise you that I LOVE this challenge ^.^
So I don't have to hurt my brain to much to go and create for this challenge. In fact I can already share an "older" project that you might not have seen earlier. That is if you didn't read last month's Craft Stamper as it's been published in it. Some of my Visible Image teamies and I went and had some fun with the Visible Image monoliths...
Structuur...het verwondert jullie vast en zeker niet dat ik deze uitdaging GEWELDIG vind ^.^
Daar hoef ik ook niet echt heel hard over na te denken wat ik zou kunnen maken. Ik kan jullie zelfs al een "ouder" project laten zien dat ik maakte en jullie misschien nog niet zagen. Tenminste, als jullie het magazine Craft stamper van vorige maand niet gelezen hebben aangezien het daarin gepubliceerd werd. Enkele van mijn DT vrienden en ikzelf hebben ons uitgeleefd op de Visible Image monoliths...

I loved making this structured base...
Ik vond het super om deze structuur aan te brengen op mijn basis...
And I kicked the roughness back by using soft elements such as the beautiful closed eyes of the 'Face it ' stamps and the fragile words from the 'Life can be tough' stamp.
En tegenover zoveel structuur wou ik heel graag zachtere elementen plaatsen zoals de prachtige gesloten ogen uit de 'Face it' set en de fragiele woorden van de 'Life can be tough' stempel.
Last week I even shared this youtube tutorial showing a fun technique to add extra texture in your background...
Vorige week deelde ik trouwens ook dit filmpje waarbij ik een hele leuke techniek liet zien om texturr in je achtergrond te krijgen...

For my previous project I shared a video tutorial where I worked with one of the new word stamps Visible Image released called 'Scars' Well today I would like to sneak in and show a second project I made using the same stamp ^.^ I can't help it...I just think it's such a beautiful stamp.
I needed some structure this time and ended up with this mixed media tag...

Deze keer moest er gewoon wat structuur bij en ik eindigde met deze mixed media tag...
I gave my butterfly some scars using the crackle stamp from the 'Create it' set.
Ik gaf mijn vlinder zijn kleine littekens met de craqueleer stempel uit de 'Create it' set.

It's finally here and completely happy with it, my personal project, my "art journal" ...we'll I don't know if I can really call it an art journal. When you look up what an art journal is, you read that it's a diary where you also draw, experiment, collage,...
For me it won't actually be a diary where I write or document what happens every day.
I gave it a name that explains best what it will be for me. Het is eindelijk klaar, en ik ben er helemaal blij mee: mijn persoonlijke project, mijn art journal. Alhoewel ik niet echtt weet of ik het wel een art journal kan noemen. Als je opzoekt wat een art journal is dan lees je dat het een dagboek is waar je ook in gaat tekenen, dingen inkleeft, waarin je experimenteert,... Voor mij persoonlijk gaat het niet echt een dagboek zijn waar ik mijn alledaagse leven in neerzet. Ik gaf hem een naam die veel beter aantoont wat het voor mij zal zijn.
A project where I can be me with all my thoughts, with all my feelings. A place that will make me stand still and reflect on things, to try and leave things behind, ... to breathe.
Een projectje waar ik mezelf kan zijn met al mijn gedachten, en alles wat ik voel. Een plaatsje dat me verplicht om even stil te staan, na te denken over dingen, misschien wel zorgt dat ik dingen achter me ga laten...om te ademen.
Because it's a personal project I wanted to make it myself too. It had to be a journal where I love to go and create. So I needed something that had the size I love and gave me the opportunity to use as less or as many texture I want without the back giving up on me.
Omdat het toch een persoonlijk project is wilde ik mijn journal ook zelf maken. Eentje waar ik graag in wou gaan werken. Dus ik moest iets hebben dat mijn maten had en me ook de mogelijkheid geeft om zoveel structuur te gebruiken als ik wil zonder dat de rug het begeeft.
I have cut tabs as a base, which will give me the opportunity to even work outside the frame of my white papers too.
Als basispagina's heb ik tabbladen gemaakt die me ook de kans geven om extra elementen toe te voegen, om buiten de lijnen te werken.
