Don't...

I've always hold off on working in an actual bound art journal.  I love working with layers and metal wire and texture and above all I don't want the color on one page to run through and contaminate another page.  I also loved the size my tags gave me so why would I do what I do in a journal knowing it would hold me back to do some things.
But yet, I always loved the idea of having it in an actual journal and I decided to give it a try (I shared my first page a while ago right HERE)
Today... I made my second page in it and yes... it became very clear that I really need to start thinking and working different when working in my art journal, even though I have loose papers.  I ran into a little problem that for me was kind of a big problem as I am a bit of a perfectionist ^.^
But all ended well as you can see in the video, I managed to fix it without any trouble.

Ik ben het altijd uit de weg gegaan om in een echt gebonden boek te werken. Ik hou er immers van om met lagen, ijzerdraad en textuur te werken en bovenal wil ik niet dat een kleur van één pagina doorloopt naar de andere en daar vlekken nalaat. Ik hou ook enorm van de maat van mijn tags dus waarom zou ik in een echt gebonden art journal gaan werken als ik weet dat het mij zou tegenhouden om bepaalde dingen te gaan doen.
En toch, bleef ik ergens wel zin hebben om alles mooi ingebonden te hebben in een echt boek dus... ben ik toch overstag gegaan ( ik deelde mijn eerste pagina al met jullie HIER)
En vandaag  maakte ik mijn tweede pagina en ja hoor... het werd heel duidelijk dat ik op een andere manier moet gaan denken en werken in mijn art journal, ook al heb ik nog steeds losse vellen papier. Ik had een klein probleempje dat voor mij eigenlijk best even een schrik momentje was aangezien ik nu eenmaal een pietje precies ben ^.^
Het is allemaal gewoon netjes opgelost geraakt, zoals je kan zien in de video.

I always have so much fun in bringing stamps together that somehow belong to be together either when they are in different sets. And today it's the inksplat from the 'Organics' set and a sentiment from the 'Voices in your head' set...

Ik vind het altijd super om stempels bij elkaar te brengen die volgens mij gewoon bij elkaar horen, ook al zitten ze in een andere set. En vandaag is dat de inktvlek die in de 'Organics' set zit en een tekst uit de 'Voices in your head' set...

The inksplat has a tiny line which had me going direction of making a square using 4 prints of the splat.
So to make this card you start by measuring the size of your sentiment to know where you need your splatters to be stamped. Once those are on your paper, mask of the square in between and blend in some ink. And then you are ready to go and stamp your sentiment ^.^
But I also wanted to have some fun with my favorite color combo... red and black. Just perfect for the words and that definitely for that splatter ^.^

De inktvlek heeft een klein lijntje en dat zorgde ervoor dat ik aan een rechthoek  dacht.  
Om dit kaartje te maken start je eigenlijk met meten hoe groot je sentiment is en hoeveel plaats je dus gaat moeten open laten als je de vlekken gaat stempelen. Eens je dat hebt gedaan, mask je de rechthoek af waarbinnen je een zacht laagje inkt kan blenden. En dan ben je al klaar om je woorden te gaan stempelen.
Maar ik wou ook heel graag een kaart maken met mijn favoriete kleuren combinatie zwart en rood. Die vlek vraagt toch om rood niet ^.^

To give my splatter that tiny bit more I added some shimmer by using my Zig Wink of Stella marker...

Om mijn inktvlek net dat kleine beetje extra te geven bracht ik een klein beetje shimmer aan met mijn Zig Wink of Stella marker...

No regrets...

You all know I love words on my projects and today is not different. They even get their own place in the spotlight on today's project.  Visible Image has these beautiful sets with strong words perfect for cards, art journaling and I myself used them on a tag today. I had my own twist on them as I felt like they needed to be torn apart and then joined together again.  Strange? Not in my head :-)
Well I had the camera rolling for you so enjoy the video ^.^

Het is geen geheim dat ik graag woorden verwerk op mijn projecten en dat is vandaag niet anders.  Ze krijgen zelfs hun eigen plaatsje in de spotlights. Visible Image heeft prachtige sets met woorden die perfect zijn voor kaarten, artjournaling of op een tag zoals ik vandaag doe. Ik gaf er mijn eigen draai aan aangezien ik vond dat ze uit elkaar moesten gehaald worden en daarna toch terug samen moesten gebracht worden. Vreemd?  Niet in mijn hoofd ^.^
Ik had de camera terug opgezet dus veel plezier met een nieuwe tutorial op mijn videokanaal ^.^

One kind word...

What if...? Sometimes you try out something and just discover new things and today's project is all about that. I had the 1983 stencil on my work desk and while trying out something I saw another pattern appear that I loved... so I just went ahead and made a little tag with it.
And I found the perfect words for this tag in the new released set 'One kind word'...

Wat als...? Soms ga je aan het experimenteren en ontdek je nieuwe dingen die je niet had verwacht. Ik had het nieuwe 1983 stencil op mijn werkblad en toen ik iets aan het uitproberen was zag ik een vorm die zelf heel graag zie... dus ging ik ermee aan de slag op een tag.
En de perfecte woorden  voor mijn tag vond ik in de nieuwe set 'One kind word'

One kind word can turn someones gray day into a beautiful and colorful day! So look around, who is the lucky person or are the lucky persons who's day you want to make (even more) beautiful?

Eén enkel vriendelijk woord kan iemands grijze dag omzetten naar een mooie en kleurvolle dag! Dus kijk even rond, wie is de gelukkige, of wie zijn de gelukkige mensen wiens dag jij (nog meer) wil inkleuren?

Remember this video? And remember I made two backgrounds with some left over Twinkling H2O paints?

Herinner je je deze video nog? En herinner je je hoe ik twee achtergronden maakte met de overschot aan Twinkling H2O's?

I always have some of those backgrounds laying around and they are perfect for those moments when you just want to have a play or you want to get some things out of your mind.
So for these two tags I decided I wanted to have a play with some of the fabulous words that Visible Image has. There are so many of them and I love just going through all of them and then find the perfect ones to be put together and which fit my mind set.
Curious which ones I took out today? I show you in another video...

Ik heb altijd wel een paar van die achtergronden liggen die perfect zijn voor momenten waarop je gewoon even snel wil spelen of als je iets uit je hoofd wil krijgen.
Voor deze twee tags wou ik graag gewoon aan de slag met een paar van de prachtige woorden die de Visible Image sets hebben. Er zijn er zoveel en ik vind het altijd zalig om er door te gaan en dan de perfecte woorden samen te brengen die neerzetten wat er in mijn hoofd speelt.

And of course I already had a play with them ^.^ I went for The White Rabbit and the words that are in that set couldn't be more true at the moment. I feel like I'm running but not moving forward at all. 

En natuurlijk ging ik er al mee aan de slag ^.^ Ik koos voor 'The white Rabbit' en de woorden in deze set passen zo goed bij mij op dit moment. Het voelt alsof ik rond race maar niet vooruit geraak.

Some things I can control, others are out of my hands but one thing is sure, it became very clear that time is precious.

Sommige dingen heb ik zelf in de hand, andere heb ik minder controle over maar één ding is zeker: het werd me heel duidelijk dat tijd heel kostbaar is.

And then there is coloring... definitely one way to make you stop and relax. It has been so long since I colored in an actual figure and earlier I used other mediums like copic markers and the Zig clean color real brush markers. This time I went for my watercolors and Inktense pencils...
Oh and the perfect stamp to have your character stand on something instead of having it float around... the smudge stamp from the 'Dare to be different' set ^.^

En dan is er kleuren... heel duidelijk een manier op je zelf even helemaal tot rust te brengen. Het is echt al heel lang geleden dat ik nog eens een figuurtje in kleurde en toen gebruikte ik ook andere kleurmiddelen zoals copic markers en de Zig clean color real brushes. Deze keer ging ik voor mijn aquarelverf en de Inktense potloden.
Oh en een kleine tip: de perfecte stempel om je figuurtje ergens op te laten staan in plaats van hem zomaar te zweven te zetten is de streep in de 'Dare to be different' set ^.^

So this is my first tag with one of the Wonderland stamps, but I'll be showing more of them of course ^.^ Now tell me: who's your favorite character of the set?

Sometimes I start thinking and looking at the world around us. And to many times I notice all the demands we need to fulfill. It all needs to go faster, it needs to be better.  And strangely enough we feel the need we have to meet up with them. We can't stay behind, we have to meet to the high standards others set for us. And without knowing we let them take away beautiful parts of us, parts that make us US.
With this in mind I had a play with one of the beautiful new released words and stencils. Very easy, and CAS but I had the camera running anyway.

Soms durf ik wel eens kritisch rond me heen kijken naar de wereld. En veel te vaak merk je dan welke eisen we eigenlijk opgelegd krijgen. Het moet allemaal sneller en het moet steeds beter. Gek genoeg gaan we er ook zomaar in mee. We kunnen immers niet achterblijven, we zullen die standaards halen.  En zonder dat we het weten laten we vaak prachtige delen van onszelf wegnemen, delen die ons onszelf maken.
Met dit gevoel in gedachten ging ik aan de slag met één van de mooie nieuwe woorden en een nieuw stencil dat Visible image uitbracht.  Heel makkelijk en CAS maar ik had de camera toch aanstaan...

Into the woods...

Did you already see the new release Visible Image shared and is available Mai 11th?  If not, you are missing out on beautiful sets and stencils.  You get the whole deal: great designs and words that give you the chance to tell your story. 

I love playing with their words. They are perfect on their own but they also give you a chance to put parts of them together and make whole new sets of words. So versatile and they never lose their strength. On my first project you can see how I brought two different sentences together to make a new one. I have put it on a card here but I can already tell you that I have other plans for this one... for this whole card as a matter of fact ^.^ but I need to go and have myself a bit more paper first.

Zagen jullie de nieuwe stempels en stencils al die Visible Image uit brengt op 11 mei? Als jullie ze nog niet zagen dan hebben jullie iets gemist. Het is het hele pakket: prachtige ontwerpen en woorden die je de kans geven om je verhaal te vertellen.

Het is geen geheim dat ik van hun woorden hou. Ze zijn perfect op zichzelf maar door ze te combineren, of delen samen te brengen, maak je zelf opnieuw een heleboel nieuwe heel bruikbare woorden. Op mijn eerste project  kan je zien hoe ik twee verschillende zinnen bewerkte om een nieuwe te maken. Ik gebruikte het hier op een kaart maar ik kan nu al zeggen dat ik een ander plan heb met deze... voor dit complete kaartje zelfs ^.^ Maar ik moet eerst wat extra papier bijhalen.

And then there's that tree... and those two other tree scenes... and those owls. What can I say other than they are just perfect and they speak to me. So many ideas and I only started stamping them separately, even though they match together so great to make beautiful scenes. 

But look at it, just one of the stamps and yet a great silhouette of the woods. 

And yes, there are words in the set too... 

En dan heb je de boom... en de twee silhouetten...en de uilen. Zoveel ideeën en ik heb ze nu enkel apart gebruikt. En dat terwijl ze perfect bij elkaar passen  om prachtige scenes op te bouwen.

Maar ook al gebruikte ik slechts één stempel, toch heb je een perfect silhouette van het bos.

En ja hoor, er zitten ook woorden in deze set.

So don't hesitate to go and check out the new releases. I'm pretty sure you will get as enthusiastic as I am when you see them ^.^

Let the rain...

A while ago I had a demonstration with the Gansai Tambi Starry watercolor set and while making some examples, there was no doubt I would go and not use the Sparkle in the rain set.  It was perfect to show how shiny these watercolors are.
As usual, this set has a beautiful quote and looking at it I even saw another way of using it. I decided that I wanted to go for: 'Let the rain sparkle'
Of course I had to have...  sparkly rain. And on top of that I had my words and my background shining as much as possible.

Een hele tijd terug had ik een demonstratie met de Gansai Tambi Starry aquarelverfjes. En bij het maken van enkele voorbeelden was er geen twijfel mogelijk dat ik de Sparkle in the rain stempelset van Visible Image zou gebruiken. Het is perfect om te laten zien hoe glanzend deze aquarel welis.
Zoals altijd heeft deze Visible Image set een prachtige quote en toen ik er naar keek zag ik ook een andere manier om hem te gebruiken. Ik besloot te gaan voor 'Let the rain sparkle' - laat de regen glanzen.
En natuurlijk had ik dan glinsterende regen nodig. En mijn woorden en achtergrond moesten natuurlijk ook zo glinsterend mogelijk zijn.

Why I went for those words? Because I really feel like you should try to turn every negative thing that happens into something positive. You can't always stop bad things happening to you, but you can try to see the positive things that are coming from it. They might not be visible right away, and sometimes it are only very little things. But they are there and will become clear one day.

Waarom ik voor deze woorden koos?  Omdat ik er van overtuigd ben dat je moet proberen om de negatieve dingen die op jou pad komen om te draaien in iets positief. Je kan de negatieve dingen niet altijd stoppen, maar je kan proberen om er positieve dingen uit te halen. Het is misschien niet meteen zichtbaar hoe iets negatief ook positief kan zijn, en soms zijn het maar hele kleine dingen. Maar ze zijn er wel en vroeg of laat worden ze zichtbaar.

How I created that fine mist of rain?  Take a closer look at the stamp... you see that one fine line at the right of the stamp? You can ink it up very easily without having to cut into the stamp. Just push it down on the edge of your inkpad and you are ready to go ^.^

Misschien vraag je jezelf wel af hoe ik die hele fijne regen maakte? Kijk even heel goed naar de regen stempel... zie je dat ene lijntje rechts? Dat kan je heel makkelijk beinkten door het aan de rand van je inktkussen te zetten ^.^

Sparkle in the rain

She smiled...

The organic stamp from Visible Image was calling for a long time to be inked up. And I knew what I wanted to do with it...and I still have to because my project turned out to be something completely different than what I wanted to do initially ^.^
There were some bumps in the road, amongst being knock out for a couple of days in between, but I've managed to get the project finished. I had my camera on while creating so there is a new video for you today. Have fun!

De Organics stempel van visible Image riep al heel lang om beinkt te worden. En ik wist wat ik wou gaan maken alleen...moet ik het nog steeds gaan maken want mijn project voor vandaag werd iets totaal anders dan ik in gedachten had in het begin ^.^
Er zaten een paar bultjes in de weg, waaronder een paar dagen knock out zijn, maar uiteindelijk er toch in geslaagd mijn project af te werken. En ik had de camera ondertussen ook draaien dus er is een nieuwe video . Veel plezier!

I still want to go and make that first idea, and while making this project I got another idea for this stamp so... you'll see it come by another time without a doubt ^.^

Ik wil nog steeds mijn eerste idee maken, en terwijl ik deze tag maakte kreeg ik nog een idee dus... jullie zien zonder twijfel deze stempel binnenkort nog eens terug ^.^
